About The Association

Our Mission

The Scott’s Addition Boulevard Association is an eclectic group of business owners and residents working to make the Scott’s Addition neighborhood one of the best communities in which to live, work, and play in Richmond, Virginia.

Our History

The Association was founded in 2003 by a group of mainly business owners and developers with a common interest in what was then mainly a light industrial neighborhood well positioned for future growth. These founding members worked to create the Scott’s Addition Historic District, a National Historic District recognized beginning in 2005 that, through the use of historic tax credits, spurred much of the rapid development taking place today.

What We Do

Our organization, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, exists to foster a sense of community in Scott’s Addition, be a collective voice for the concerns of business owners and residents, and works to improve our neighborhood day by day. Scott’s Addition is growing faster than any other area in Richmond, and as such, we’re focused on ensuring smart growth, mitigating growing pains such as parking and traffic, and improving infrastructure such as adding sidewalks, trash cans, and trees (among other projects).

Opportunities To Connect

  • Public Meetings: We host bi-monthly public meetings where we update the community on goings on and new developments, as well as facilitate networking and provide an outlet to interface with city officials.
  • Neighborhood Happy Hours: We come together every other month for a happy hour at various neighborhood establishments as a way to connect the community. All members enjoy two complimentary drink tickets (and sometimes other benefits, too).
  • Quarterly Clean-Ups: Volunteers gather once a quarter to clean up trash and report issues needing attention to the city’s 311 service, such as bulk item pickup or alley repairs.

What does Membership Include?

With your membership, you or your business will be listed on our website as a member. You will be invited to attend our General Membership Meetings held every other month, and get exclusive invitations to SABA social and networking events throughout the year.

You will also be invited to participate in our community outreach and neighborhood beautification projects. All of these events and activities are a great way to meet people in the neighborhood, network with businesses, and stay in the know about what is happening in our community.

Like any great organization, our success is fueled by those who want to get active and help us do exciting things. We are always looking for members to help organize social and networking events, help volunteer at our neighborhood clean-up and beautification projects, and help with other ongoing initiatives. Memberships renew on a rolling basis and will become due a year from your join/renewal date. You may choose to automatically renew your subscription on the date of your join anniversary or get an email reminder to renew manually.

Resident memberships are $25; businesses are $150 per year. We accept checks, cash, major credit cards, and PayPal.
